The Core of Chinese Language Ability Guideline
Taiwan is synonymous with its interactive, creative, and flexible Chinese teaching and learning with research-based pedagogy. Thus, National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) convened scholars and experts to conduct research and accomplished the COOL Chinese Proficiency Guideline for Chinese language learners.
The COOL Chinese Proficiency Guideline is the only Chinese guideline in the world that aligns with the TBCL, ACTFL, CEFR, and HSK framework. The Chinese proficiency level is designed with three bands and seven levels. There are three bands - basic, intermediate, and advanced and seven levels including Pre, A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2.
The Guideline Description of Chinese Language Ability
Following the COOL Chinese Proficiency Guideline and its three bands and seven levels, the Test of Chinese Competence Certification and Diagnosis (CCCD) is a set of standardized language proficiency tests developed for non-native speakers of Chinese to examine their Chinese language proficiency. It also includes lists of 14,470 Chinese vocabulary and 496 grammar points under three bands and seven levels.
